Unreal Fest Seattle 2024, the flagship event focused on Unreal Engine, set to take place from September 30 to October 3, 2024, at the Seattle Convention Center.
Represented by our dynamic duo—Executive VP of Sales Jim Crawley and Customer Success Manager Jami Järviö—we were thrilled to dive into the sessions, workshops, and extensive networking opportunities.
As with the previous edition, a key highlight for us was the Automotive Summit, bringing together top industry stakeholders to explore the specific applications of Unreal Engine in the automotive sector.
The automotive track, began with an excellent introductory presentation titled “The State of Unreal Automotive: From Visualization to HMI Development.” This session was delivered by François Antoine, Director of Automotive Products, and Joe Andresen, Technical Product Director for HMI at Epic Games. The presentation highlighted Unreal Engine’s increasing significance in the automotive industry, noting that over 25 vehicles now use Unreal Engine as their core HMI technology— a milestone we’re proud to be part of, with Siili Auto contributing to nearly one-third of those vehicles.
Additionally, our contributions were recognized during an update on ApiGear (apigear.io), an API framework supporting API-driven development workflows. As part of our involvement with COVESA, we’ve actively participated in ApiGear’s development, recently celebrating our contribution to the open-source codebase. You can read the full story here.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for networking and reconnecting. We enjoyed catching up with industry friends like Aaron Vlk from Epic Games Unreal Engine and Eddy Reyes from Rivian. Alongside the sessions, we engaged in productive meetings and were thrilled to reunite with our colleagues from Qualcomm.
