It’s been nearly eight months since the Shape Future project kicked off, and we’re excited to share an update on its progress. Led by Infineon Technologies, Shape Future is a Europe-wide initiative bringing together 41 partners from 12 countries to drive advancements in fundamental Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) for the automotive industry.

🔹 PROJECT GOAL

Shape Future is focused on advancing essential ECS to support robust, high-performance, fail-operational, and integrated systems for perception, cognition, AI-driven decision-making, resilient automation, computing, and communication—for highly automated vehicles.

🔹 SIILI AUTO’s INVOLVEMENT

The project is structured into eight work packages, with our primary focus on Work Package 4: AI-enabled computing systems and algorithms. Our key contribution will be an advanced HMI for Demonstrator 4.3, where:
„Visual and depth sensor data will be processed onboard the vehicle to create a panoramic view of the surroundings with real-time traffic alerts displayed on an in-cabin screen. Cognitive scene understanding, offline analysis of driving and traffic patterns, and virtual occlusion removal will ensure an unobstructed view of the environment, enhanced with traffic insights gathered from multiple vehicles and external sources.”

🔹 CURRENT STATUS & NEXT STEPS

The initial stage involved collaborating with Shape Future partners to define the demonstrator’s requirements and system specifications. It has now entered the prototyping phase, developing HMI and technical concepts in preparation for implementation.

🔹 WHY WE JOINED SHAPE FUTURE

At Siili Auto, „We drive innovation” isn’t just a motto—it’s how we work. We are always eager to contribute our expertise to pioneering research initiatives. Previously, we were involved in the AMICI (Adaptive Multimodal In-car Interaction) project, led by Tampere University in Finland, and we remain an active member of COVESA.

Stay tuned for updates from this exciting project!
